Broken Charger Cord? Try Wireless Charging

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 as my primary phone – I know it’s old, but it still serves me well. Apart from I have to be very delicate when I connect the USB Charger at night, otherwise I won’t have a charged phone in the morning.

For some reason, the USB Charging port on my phone is broken, so the charger cable doesn’t go all the way in, so I need to be very careful how I lay my phone down at night. I also can’t use any charging cord, as the standard Android charging cables don’t always fit any more. But thankfully, the Galaxy S7 has wireless charging capabilities, so I got the Fast Wireless Charger T511S Choetech IQ Inductive Wireless Charging Pad.

The Choetech Fast Wireless Charger supports 7.5W wireless charging and supports wireless charging from iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8 with iOS 11.2. It also supports S6, S6 Edge, Nokia 9, and Nexus 4/5.

If I have a fairly recent Samsung phone, such as the Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, Note 8, S8, S8 Plus, Note 5, S6 Edge+, S7 and S7 Edge, it supports 10W Fast Charging mode, which can charge your phone fully in a couple of hours. It’s not the fastest charge out there, but it is enough for an overnight charge.

The design is quite sleek being a 10cm square that’s 1cm thick and looks good on the desk. The wireless symbols are rubber grips to ensure your phone doesn’t slide around once placed. However, your phone needs to be positioned correctly, otherwise it won’t charge – so it may take a few attempts to know where to place your phone before it becomes second nature. Once your phone is charging, you will see the green light illuminate. If you like sleeping in a dark room, this light is hardly noticeable, ensuring a good night sleep.

I’ve been using this for a few months now as my primary charger, and it has worked a treat. It has worked much better than the Nillkin Qi Wireless Charger I had for my Samsung Galaxy S4. I now use it as my primary charge point. The charging speed is about 3 hours, which isn’t he best, but it isn’t the worst either.

Unlike the wireless charging functionality my Kia Sportage has inbuilt, my phone doesn’t overheat and become too hot to touch. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this product, as charging is reasonably fast, and it is a lot easier placing your phone down, than connecting a charging cable each night.
