Visiting the Island of Pag

After leaving Krk and Baska, we made our way further down the Dalmatian coast to the Island of Pag. To get to it from the north side, we caught a ferry across just outside of the town Prizna.

Pag is literally and island of rock, as you can see above.

Even the fences are made out of rocks.

Yet, there towns have amazing views. This is looking into the town of Metajna.

For the night, we ended up travelling into Novalja and staying at Camping Strasko. This is an impressive caravan park – one of the best ones we have stayed at. There was so much entertainment, the camp grounds is so massive and there’s a lot to do. It’s like being in a mini city. There is table tennis, chess, volleyball and more. The only problem we had was in one of the restaurants, where we literally had a Mr Bean serving us. It look like him, he spoke like him and acted like him. First of all, the waiter lost our order, so we had to order again. We were starving, and waiting over an hour isn’t fun. Then, he gave us the wrong meal. Even though he wasn’t Mr Bean, we had a laugh anyway.

We ended up staying three nights at Camping Strasko.

The Island of Krk and Baska

Once we reached Krk, it was well into the afternoon – and if travelling Europe, if you don’t find a caravan park or campsite before 4pm, chances are it will be fully booked. Once we reached the township of Krk, the caravan park we were looking for was full, and it also gave off a bad vibe. The other nearby campsites were also full, so we ventured 30 minutes down the road into Baska – which was more of our liking.

And we weren’t going to go back to the bridge when entering Krk to visit this campsite. It looked pretty boring.

We ended up staying at a campsite called Camp Zablace, which is located here. It doesn’t look too pleasing when it’s empty, but when full, it’s completely different.

It’s also one of the best beaches too, with the bluest water, wavers, and a nearby water slide.

Baska also has a nice waterfront/boardwalk that was extremely active at night time, with amusement rides for kids, live entertainment and plenty of restaurants to choose from.DSC_0963

The restaurant were we are: Captains. 55 Euro for three people got us meals that were so large, we couldn’t eat it all (and usually we do).

Baska is defiantly a great place to visit while in Croatia.

Travelling to the Island of Krk

After leaving Pazin, we made our way to the Island of Krk.

When driving there, we wanted to take the highway out of Pazin, but we got a  bit lost and ended up on the coast. The other thing was, that we were really low on fuel and needed to find a petrol station. It’s not a good feeling when you are in an unfamiliar area and don’t know what’s around, but we found one, thankfully.

Visiting Pazin’s Castle

If you are ever in Pazin, make sure you drop in and see the castle. It’s not very big, but its interesting. (That being said, I haven’t been in many castles before). You can find more about the Castle here.

Back to Croatia and Visiting Medulin

After leaving Italy, we made our way back to Croatia. After visiting friends and family, we left to explore the rest of Croatia. First stop, once again Medulin.

image

The above shows travel to Gardaland, Asiago and to Medulin over a 7 day period.

Our first time in Medulin, we stayed in the Hotel Holiday, but now that we have the Campervan, we stayed at two of the towns campsites, Kamp Kazela and Village Medulin Camp.

Both campsites were equally good, but Village Medulin Camp was more in the centre of town and had a better beach and entertainment.
