Picking Up Our Campervan McRent, Mannheim

Posted by on October 11, 2012

After having a somewhat Ok sleep (there were soccer parties going on outside all night) at Hotel Wegener, our day consisted of picking up our campervan and dropping off our hire car.

Originally, we were having to drive up to Frankfurt Airport to drop our hire car off, however, there was a Rent a Terstappen opposite Hotel Wegener which we could drop the car off there instead which was great. EuroCar is also next door as well.

Our campervan was hired through a company called McRent, however, the day didn’t go to as planned. Be there, around 2pm, pick the car up, leave around 3-4pm. Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned. It took a long 6 hours to be able to drive off with our camper van.

The 6 Hour Wait

Waiting 6 hours to pickup a car is ridiculous, people have things planned. The reason why it took so long as there were only two people there to serve customers, and only one of them spoke English, and there was another family from Perth, and two other retired couples all from Australia, all can only speak English, and all wanting to pick there campervans up at 2pm. With being 3 groups and taking 2 hours to server each customer, there was a long wait.

However, we all spoke about our holiday plans, gave any advice we had and also career advice was giving.

So if you are that family (18 year old daughter and 10 year old son who waited a long time to be served picking up your campervan at McRent) and you are reading this, let me know how your holiday went.

The Campervan

So this is what our campervan looks like… the yucky brown colour. In these photo’s we were looking out for damage, wear and tear.
