Last Day In Paris: Visiting The Louvre

Posted by on October 8, 2012

After spending a few days at Disneyland Paris and at the Eiffel Tower, it was our last day, therefor, last night in Crécy-la-Chapelle’s Caravan Park. Our last day consisted of visiting the major tourist attractions in Paris. We thought about going on a tour, but we ended up downloading Trip Advisor (conveniently using the free Wi-Fi access to only the Google Play store on the Eiffel Tower) and doing a through Tip Adviser.

However, we only walked past most of the tourist attractions in Paris. We first went to the Notre Dame, however, they had a service while we were there so we couldn’t enter. After following Trip Adviser’s route, we ended up at the Louvre spending about 8 hours there. The price is about 10 euro’s for non EU residents over the age of 18, otherwise, it’s free.

Even though we spent a all day there, we still didn’t see everything. The total walking distance of the Louvre is about 75km. We did however get an audio guide which was really good – it was a Nintendo DS which gave you walking maps and even started talking every time you walked into a new room which was very handy. I have to say, I was too busy playing with that then looking around.

Yes, we did visit the Mona Lisa, however, because it is behind bullet proof glass the glare in the photo’s wreck it.
