Out Stay at Hotel Hubertus in Karlsfeld

Posted by on September 18, 2012

After visiting Hitler’s House, Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden, it was time to find somewhere to sleep. We drove into the centre of Dachau to find accommodation, but everything was full. We asked one hotel who was full, who referred us to another who was again full, who then was nice enough to ring other hotels to find accommodation (sorry that I can’t remember your name).

In the end we managed to find Hotel Hubertus in Karlsfeld, which is 4km south of Dachau.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures, and their website doesn’t have English – it was a nice place to stay. One night, with breakfast included cost $135.06AUD for two people.

Since it was late when we arrived, we had dinner. A beer and a pizza which was quite nice, considering we didn’t each much for the day.

One thing about eating a pizza in Europe, nobody cuts it for you like they do in Australia. I’m not sure why, but I like my pizza’s cut for me.

The room was of a decent size, and the place also had an indoor heated swimming pool. So after dinner, we went for a swim for about one hour – only because the pool shut at 11pm. However, we did have to ask to turn the lights on when we went down.

In the morning, we had breakfast which was one of the nicest places we’ve had breakfast in – I ate quite a lot.

So if you are ever in the area, this is an ok place to check out.

Unfortunately, they only gave you one hour of free Wi-Fi, and I couldn’t purchase more because the hotel’s internet connection went down, and their invoice is printed on high quality paper.
