Camping at Crécy-la-Chapelle, France

After we picked up our third traveller from Paris airport – in which there are people walking around with Machine Guns, we went to find a campsite to stay at whilst we spend a week in Paris.

After looking in our camping book, we found two possible campsites. The one that looked like the best was Camping Paris Est, located here, in which we put in a reservation whilst looking for prices for Disneyland Paris.

However, when we arrived early in the morning, we were greeted with a very unfriendly women in the receptionist, who was probably the most unhelpful, unfriendly person we met on our whole trip.

When we got there, she said she the campsite was full, but I said that we made a booking. She said, she didn’t receive it, so I showed her the email I sent on my phone. In the end, she basically crossed her arms and said get lost I don’t want to know you. I gave her my business card and said “I guess you need some IT assistance as your email and booking system doesn’t work”. She didn’t care one bit.

So my helpful tip, if you are in Paris, DO NOT GO TO CAMPING PARIS EST – one of the worst places you could go too. Also, the location is quite bad since there is a lot of traffic around, and you are not within walking distance to anything.

Crécy-la-Chapelle: Camping Le Soleil De Crécy

So the other camping site we found was in Crécy-la-Chapelle, which is a really nice quiet French town and only a 10-15 minute drive to Disneyland Paris.

The campsite we went to is called Camping Le Soleil De Crécy and actually was a decent caravan park. We stayed in one of their cabins for 7 days, and didn’t have a problem. They provided free internet and computers, and was really close to Disneyland. I really recommend this place if you plan to spend a few days at Disneyland.

The campsite has a swimming pool, a bar, and during popular times, the pizza shop is open so you can buy burgers, chips, and Pizza – and the food was quite nice. In fact, we never had a bad meal in France.

The campsite was also clean, and the nearby town really feels like you are living the culture of France. Just don’t go into town Monday morning as everything is shut.

Overall, we had a good time staying here.
