4 Ways To Remove The Background Of An Image

Have you ever taken a photo of an item, only to find that the background is not doing the photo any justice? Well, if you don’t have any photo editing experience, here are 3 easy ways to remove the background of a picture.

Clipping Magic

Clipping Magic is a free, DIY background removal tool. It’s only effective on simple images like below. If you have a picture that is complex like in the Pixc example, forget it.

Pixc

Pixc is a service that allows you to upload images, and within 24 hours, you’ll have the background removed. The service costs no more than $2 per image, and you get a fantastic result. Just have a look at the before and after picture I tested out with them. Also, they are based in Australia – an added bonus.

Microsoft Office

In Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013, there is a feature to remove backgrounds. Once you have added your picture to the document, just select Format (located under Picture Tools), then Remove Background. Then, just mark the areas you want to keep, and remove the areas you want to remove, and it’s done for you.

RemoveBackground

Removebackground is another alternative with a price tag of $2 per image, but can be as less than $1 if you purchase 500 images to edit. The site also allows additional services such as shadows, reflections and other enhancements.

These 4 tools should be enough to suite your personal or commercial need in removing backgrounds from objects. Which option would you try out first? Do you know of any other background removal tools that you currently use?
