How to view email headers in Gmail, Hotmail and Mozilla Thunderbird?
Sometimes you might not know where an email comes from, so it’s a good idea to check the actual email headers of an email to ensure it is coming from who it says it is. To check email headers, follow the below steps.
To check email headers in Gmail:
- Click the down arrow next to reply at the top of the message pane and select Show Original.
To check email headers in Hotmail:
- When viewing you inbox or another folder, right click on the email you want to see the headers for and select View Message Source
To check email headers in Mozilla Thunderbird:
- On the selected email, press Control+U or select View and Message Source
