How can I scan for all the IP Addresses that are currently active on my network?

I used Net World Scanner, found here http://www.petri.co.il/quickly_find_used_ip_addresses_gui.htm

It successfully gave me a list of all IP addresses of computers that are currently switch on in my network. It only scans one submit range at a time.
