Staying at Camping International, Giens

Posted by on December 19, 2012

We chose to stay at Camping International which is located in Giens because it’s a 4 star campsite. When we turned up (without pre-booking), we were lucky as they only had 2 camp spots available – we got in just in time. One next to the pool, and another way up the back far away from anything. Of course, we took the pool.

It wasn’t one of the most affordable campsites with WiFi was 10 Euro’s for 72 hours (minimum)!

I didn’t take any photos of the campsite, but their website, international-giens.com is pretty detailed. The campsite had everything you need, a very small supermarket, pool, bar, restaurant, clean toilet and washing up facilities, playground and a games room. Just across the road, you had 5km+ of a sand beach – however, the beach isn’t that nice to some of the ones we have in Australia.

The first day, we ended up walking along the beach – it was pretty busy.

The second day, I relaxed by the pool all day, streaming Australian radio on my mobile phone. I used Connectify.me on my laptop so I could access the internet on my mobile phone.

That night, we walked into town, and their were quite a few drunks walking around the street.

The next morning, we packed up our campervan, drove around Giens and made our way to our next 4 star campsite, Camping Bonporteau

Some people vacation in permanent camps with cabins and other facilities (such as hunting camps or children’s summer camps), but a stay at such a camp is usually not considered camping. The term camping (or camping out) may also be applied to those who live outdoors, out of necessity (as in the case of the homeless), or for people waiting overnight in queues.`
