My Thoughts On Windows 8 After Using The Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook Convertible

P1060584I thought Windows8 would be an utter flop after trying out the BETA version through Virtual Box, and watching people try to use it. However, after trying out Windows8 on a Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook, I may have just have to take back my word.

Disclaimer: Dell provided me with a XPS 12 Ultrabook; too keep if I like it.

In the past 10 years, we’ve known computers as a laptop, then the term notebook, netbook, tablet became popular, as devices got smaller and more powerful. We are now adding Ultrabooks that are convertible to a tablet, that have touchscreen capabilities.

facebook fraudThink about this statement very carefully: “Are Your Facebook Friends Who They Say They Are?”

With every new friend request you accept, do you talk to that person straight away? If not, then are you sure they are who they say they are? How do you know it’s not a fake account using a name of a friend you rarely speak to just to view your private information? Is this your ex, is this a stalker, or is this a criminal looking to steal your identity?

wifi-leechingA few years ago, you could find unsecured Wi-Fi networks almost everywhere. Now, most people’s Wi-Fi networks are secure, but there are still a few networks I see that are still unsecure.

If you are a technology enthusiast and is sometimes bored (like me), creating an unsecure wireless network can be a little fun, especially if your neighbour has a tendency to steal your internet connection.

If you have heard of the term “Daily Deals” then you’ve probably heard of the most popular daily deal website, Groupon. These daily deal websites give customers of local businesses massive discounts for products and services. However, if you take a look behind the scenes, daily deals sites are not so attractive to both businesses and customers.

Businesses end up losing money, and there are a large number of complains by customers because businesses are not accepting their coupon they have purchased through daily deal websites.

As a driver, even if we try not to speed, there are often times when we do, whether it is consciously or not. It seems we are always getting speeding tickets in places where it is easy to speed and we often put this down to simple Revenue Raising by Police.

If we see a Speed Camera, we often slow down because we don’t want to receive a nasty fine in the mail. However, did you know that the location of Fixed Speed Camera’s, Red-Light Camera’s, and Mobile Speed Camera locations are available online for all to view?

What advice can you give to an aspiring IT student for wanting to buy a laptop?

In IT people are in one of two groups - those who like Apple, and those who don't. So your choice is to buy an Apple computer or not. Personally, I don’t like Apple so I won’t buy one, so that the first choice to make.

After completing an IT course, I have written a lot about this topic which will be an interesting read for some.

Some people may love Superannuation, and others, like me, will hate it. Now, I’m not that proficient in the tax and Government world, but I do care on saving my own money.

But honestly, I think Compulsory Superannuation is a load of cock and bull, and I will be able to make more money without than with it, especially when you receive an email like this.
